Ousted Prime Minister Qarase had been planning to return to
Suva on August 31 to attend to a court case he has brought against the military regime which ousted him and to visit his family.
The government had said it had no interest in the travels of the former PM, branding him ‘an insignificant person’ after he had spent almost 9 months confined to his home island.
However, Qarase told the media he received a death threat by telephoneand because of that he had decided not to go to
Suva at this time.
