Porgera Back in Business

Operations at the giant Porgera Gold mine were brought to a standstill last week when local landowners blocked the access gates to the mine.

 

The protestors were from the Porgera Landowners Association said their interests had not been included fairly in a relocation agreement after the mine had encroached on their land.

 

Operations have now resumed following successful talks with the landowners.
