Late last Month, park rangers discovered a lake in Chile’s Bernardo O'Higgins National Park had disappeared.   all they found was a crater-like hole in the ground where the lake had been.

So far, the disappearance of the  small five-acre lake remains a mystery, however an earthquake in April may have played a part in the mystery.   It is theorized that the quake opened cracks in the lake bottom allowing the water to flow away.

However, experts have yet to visit the scene to confirm why the lake disappeared.
